The computers we will be using in this course are the CAEDM PC's in the computer labs found in rooms 234 of this building (I will try to get ArcGHIS working or other PC's connected to the CAEDM network).   Each student will also have the opportunity to acquire a free student version of ArcGIS to install on your own computer.  This student version is good for one year from the time of installation and will allow you to run analysis from home.

We are fortunate to have the computer classroom in room 234 CB now for our use.  I plan on lecturing and then going through many of the exercises together so that we can have some meaningful discussions. I will allow you to work on individual and group exercises the balance of the time.   Please arrive on time and login so that we may begin class on schedule and without interruptions.  Plan on staying for the duration of the class.

The files you will need for this course will come from a variety of sources and each assignment will include directions on how to copy/download them.   GIS data often requires a lot of disk space and this class is no exception.  You will have to carefully manage your diskspace, but if you are having problems come and see me.
